It rained, it drizzled, it poured, it rained hard and then it rained some more! It started in Shrewsbury and finally stopped just before we hit Wigan! Now that's not great when your in a car but by bicycle.....
Special mention to the lady in the empty 'Flavours cafe' in Tiverton who despite it being empty rushed out to tell us we couldn't leave our bikes on the decking area because that's the rule, well if you happen to read this our rule is we don't spend our own money in places where the staff/owner is rude. If you fancy going to 'Flavours' go quickly because they wont be open for long! We carried on to Cotebrook and stopped for a very nice bacon butty and a coffee at the shire horse center.
We went through Wem, Whitchurch, Weaverham, Warrington and Wigan and were on and off the A49 and then the A5106 and A6. Most drivers were great but one or two seemed to play who can scare the cyclist!
We finally came through Preston after a mammoth 85 miles and were welcomed to our Premier Inn by Sophie, Katie and Ian Goodfellow. It kept us both going today knowing we were meeting friends and gave us *a target time/stick to beat Julia with. We enjoyed a nice meal and no doubt bored 'the Goodies' with our riveting cycling anecdote's, but again thanks for the support - much appreciated :-)

| Only one photo today - this was the only time it wasn't raining! Note the equality of luggage - Emily Panchurst would be so proud! |
